Henry and Soo Sun in NYC (15 November 2001)

The weekend before Thanksgiving 2001, Henry came out to East Coast for a "family" gathering that would bring his Mom and his girlfriend's parents and Stepfather together in New York. Fortunately, he and I were able to meet up the day before and go out to lunch with his girlfriend, Soo Sun, and her brother and his girlfriend.

Soo Sun and Sun Won had their own family function to attend in the evening, so we parted ways and Henry and I went wandering and chatting. We were surprised not too long afterward, while sifting through anime in the East Village, by an invitation to dinner with Soo Sun's Mom and Stepfather. Dinner was fantastic and was followed by the opening of the Norman Rockwell exhibit at the Guggenheim Museum of Art. Henry and I were undoubtedly the most underdressed there, as we hadn't expected to be there at all, but it was still a fun time.

Afterwards, the group -- which included Soo Sun's friend, Kim, and Sun Won and his girlfriend, along with Henry and myself at this point -- went out for some karaoke. Last time I did that was back in college, when I ended up with the "secret asIAN man" nickname.
