Online Introduction
Peripherally here and there and sometimes more directly, I have mentioned Landmark Education and the Landmark Forum. It was a program that I participated in back in 2004 and I have continued to participate in ever since.
To me, what I got out of the Landmark Forum was priceless. I lived in a world of fantasy and dreams where there was the remote possibility of something great happening, but being powerless to do anything about it. Everything would fall to chance or be driven by my circumstances. While I never said it out loud, I figured the world wouldn't miss me if I wasn't here.
Taking the Landmark Forum opened my eyes and I've been peeling back the layers of crap that I had piled on top of myself that has been preventing me from expressing myself and pursuing that which is important to me rather than waiting for it to accidentally fall in my lap. I reconnected relationships where I had burned the bridges and I let my family back into my life. I have friends who are committed to causing something in the world instead of talking about what happened last night on TV. I'm writing a screenplay and I'm in a wonderful relationship.
If you'd asked me two and a half years ago, where I would be at the end of 2006, I would not have described my world as it is today. I would still be talking about something that's a pipe dream, instead of something that I get to live, breathe, and hold onto.
For a short time over the holidays, Landmark is offering a video presentation online. Check it out. You might find something for yourself in it, too.

A Great Man: Vincent Sides
Vincent Sides passed away last night due to a heart attack. This is who Vincent was for me:
I first met Vincent in our Self-Expression and Leadership Program back in Fall 2004. He was and is an immeasurably caring soul. His heart was the biggest that anyone will find and he touched so many people during his travels. His soft-spoken voice belied his wit, which was always at the ready. He was a family man and devoted father. He was steadfast and determined, a warrior to the end.
In the long and short of things, I didn’t know him for very long, but in the short time we spent together, he became very dear. I still vividly remember the evening we spent talking in an aisle at the Albertson’s in Highland Park, about life, children, and interestingly enough, the Introduction Leaders Program.
He joined the Spring 2006 Introduction Leaders Program and I had the pleasure and joy of being his Head Coach. I could not have been prouder to see him working so hard, never quite knowing exactly what he was in for until he took that stage with Ian Andes and Brett Lazarus.
I miss him. I wish I could have shared more time with him, talked more of fatherhood and grace, and had a few more laughs.
God bless you, Vince, my brother from another mother, and God bless those who carry on your memory.
With that, I am complete.
