Linebackers
One of the things I love about my life is that there is a bus that gets on the 110 South at Figueroa and gets off at Hill, which means it has to cut across three lanes of traffic in a fairly short distance in order to get from the on ramp on the right to the off ramp on the left. It happens to be the exact same route I take.
Those buses are the best linebackers for passenger cars. Come up along the right side and slide in as they start moving into the next lane.
