8-by-Meat
For those of you outside California, Nevada, and Arizona, In-N-Out Burger may sound like just a funny name for a burger franchise, but for us White-castleless folks here, it's one of the best places to go for a burger. Why? Because all the ingredients are fresh.
In-N-Out is not without a little of its own schtick, though. It does one thing and it does it well: burgers. Patties are about 1/8th of a pound each and the only real variations between the offerings on their menus are the number of patties and whether or not it has cheese. You can have them garden style (i.e.: low carb, substituting lettuce instead of a bun)
The Double Double is a two-patty two-cheese burger, roughly equivalent to a McDonald's Quarter Pounder, only much tastier. Cheeseless burgers are referred to as "meat", such as Double Meat. You can get bigger ones, but they're not listed on the menu, but you end up with names like "Three-by-three" and "Four-by-Four".
On Tuesday, with Jagran, sarasai, and Victor, I had a Four-by-Meat. Things got goofy during dinner and when Jagran and I went back for a second round, this ensued:
"I'd like a Four-by-Meat."
"Okay."
"Wait, can you do six?"
"Okay."
"How about eight?"
"Yeah..."
"Twelve?"
"Uh..."
"How high can you pile it?"
"Um, lemme check. [Aside: "Eight?" "Eight!"] Eight."
"Okay, gimme an Eight-by-Meat."

[Teller rings it up. Check out the total. It's the Burger of the Beast!]

"Would you like anything else with that?"
"No, I like the total just the way it is."

Linebackers
One of the things I love about my life is that there is a bus that gets on the 110 South at Figueroa and gets off at Hill, which means it has to cut across three lanes of traffic in a fairly short distance in order to get from the on ramp on the right to the off ramp on the left. It happens to be the exact same route I take.
Those buses are the best linebackers for passenger cars. Come up along the right side and slide in as they start moving into the next lane.

Peau de Porc
This may be the only fantasy football league I will play in this year. It's a dynasty league with five players kept from year to year. My roster in this league has thus far been dismal, with my running backs being terrible to the point where I've yet to protect any of them since I started three years ago.
This year, I aim for that to change. I've picked up a few promising rookies and someone who may be an interesting surprise. We'll have to see how it goes. One nice thing is I don't have to worry about tight ends, though, to be honest, I have a feeling there may be some weeks where I play two tight end sets, which is almost unheard of in fantasy football.
Here's the roster:
Aaron Brooks QB OAK
Matt Hasselbeck QB SEA
Vince Young QB TEN
Ladell Betts RB WAS
Kevin Jones RB DET
LenDale White RB TEN
Isaac Bruce WR STL
Chris Chambers WR MIA
Terry Glenn WR DAL
Keyshawn Johnson WR CAR
Derrick Mason WR BAL
Antonio Gates TE SDC
Jeremy Shockey TE NYG
Ryan Longwell PK MIN
Vikings DEF MIN
Buccaneers DEF TBB

Pointer Sisters get me so excited
In case you were wondering what other new peripherals could possibly be made for the iPod, I present to you the OhMiBod. (Ostensibly, it would work with any audio player with a 1/8" audio output jack, but why not capitalise on iPod popularity?)

I'm dancing in the shadow of life
![]() | You scored as XIII: Death. Death is probably the most well known Tarot card - and also the most misunderstood. Most Tarot novices would consider Death to be a bad card, especially given its connection with the number thirteen. In fact this card rarely indicates literal death.Without "death" there can be no change, only eventual stagnation. The "death" of the child allows for the "birth" of the adult. This change is not always easy. The appearance of Death in a Tarot reading can indicate pain and short term loss, however it also represents hope for a new future.
