Milk and Catfish

An interchange that happened at my friend Jackie's house with her daughter Anya and Anya's friend, Victoria, who was visiting:

Jackie: "Girls, what would you like for lunch?
Anya: "I don't know!"
Victoria: "Catfish!"
J: "Pardon?"
V: "CAT-FISH."
J: "Hmmm. I don't have any catfish in the house. How about tuna fish?"
V: "Does it taste like catfish?"
J: "Erm ... erm... yes?"
V: "OK!
J: OK, do you want it on a sandwich or in a dish?
V: In a dish.
J: With mayonnaise?
V: No. Mayonnaise is gross. Just plain. Like cats eat it.
J: OK. Are you sure?
V: "Yes! But you really should get some catfish for next time. It's yummy.
J: Really? I've never had it. Do you know why they call it catfish?
V: Yes! You know... cats eat fish... catfish! That's why I like mine plain... like the cats eat it. And, because mayonnaise is gross. I would also like some milk please. Thank you, Miss Jackie.
J: Because cats like milk?
V: No. Because you said there is no soda in your house.
