The Next New Adventure
There are actually several new adventures coming up. For one, I'm starting Landmark Education's Self Expression and Leadership Program this weekend. I'm really quite excited about it. After living complacently for so long, these past few months have been incredibly dynamic.
I've been going out more and hanging out with people, rather than being married to the computer, which partially explains why there's been so little activity here for so long. First it was City of Heroes, which was both active and probably the height of my complacency, and then it was practically the exact reverse, where I had nearly no time to play the game and was out doing stuff to the point of having to make time to do laundry.
The SELP, then, is the next step in that progression. I've got energy and creativity to burn and this will help put a structure around it so that I can direct it into something... I don't know what, yet, but whatever it is, I'm sure I'll have fun doing it.
The other big adventure this weekend is car shopping. I've finally caved to the Los Angeles car culture, some thirteen months after moving here. With all this stuff that I'm doing now, I just can't afford to be constrained by a lack of mobility. Mass transit is great for some places, but there are areas of the metro where access is pitiful, especially late at night.
So, I've got a pre-approved loan and I'm off to go used car shopping tonight. Don't know what I'll end up with, but if I'm lucky, maybe it'll be a ragtop.
