Genetically Engineering Gods

Cats were treated as gods once... they haven't forgotten.

They certainly won't forget when companies like Allerca start genetically engineering hypoallergenic cats. Something there just doesn't seem right.

I don't know why it should even be necessary to genetically engineer an animal just so people can have designer pets. I suppose it's the same kind of argument that could be made for genetically engineering human children. Is there really a difference?

Sure there is. The mere suggestion of genetically engineering children will have people up in arms about it. Someone will refer to eugenics and its disastrous impact.

So why is it acceptable to do the same for cats, just so people who are allergic to cats can have a cat? I've got a tip for the people allergic to cats... get a dog. Or a ferret.

Ain't it? The kitty on the page is so darn cute yet beneath that adorable exterior lies the genetics of a BEAST! He'll eat your children!
